In most cases, standard Singapore car insurance does not cover a Singapore-registered vehicle driven in Malaysia by a Malaysian licence holder. You’ll need to arrange additional coverage, such as a West Malaysia extension and approval for the additional driver, directly with your insurer. This usually comes with an extra premium and must be done in advance, as driving without valid insurance in Malaysia is not permitted.
